A 6-year-old boy in Quebec was shamed by his teacher for bringing a plastic lunch bag to school.  Although the only conclusion one can safely draw from this single incident is that the teacher in question is an insensitive bully, it reminds us of the misplaced emphasis today’s public systems place on non-core subjects.

If schools would instead focus on the fundamentals of math, science, and history, there would be no need to teach useless material like fever-pitched environmentalism to children.  With a proper education, our youth would be able to come to their own reasoned conclusions about these issues.
